TRUE OR FALSE: SALVATION BY GOD’S GRACE, THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY WAY TO GOD AND ETERNAL LIFE.

ELEMENTS OF UNDERSTANDING SALVATION:

1. EVERYONE HAS SINNED
   for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…
   Romans 3:23
   
2. THE PENALTY OR PAYMENT FOR SIN IS DEATH
   For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life
   in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 6:23
   
3. JESUS DIED TO TAKE THE PENALTY FOR OUR SINS
   but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners,
   Christ died for us. – Romans 5:8
   
4. SALVATION OCCURS WHEN WE ACKNOWLEDGE OUR SIN, REPENT OF IT, AND BELIEVE IN JESUS FOR FORGIVENESS AND SALVATION (HE IS OUR RESCUER!)
   because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and
   believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be
   saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the
   mouth one confesses and is saved. – Romans 10:9-10
   
5. GOD INITIATES SALVATION
   
6. WE RESPOND TO THE GOSPEL THROUGH REPENTANCE AND FAITH
   

SO WHAT HAPPENS EXACTLY WHEN I AM SAVED?

• YOU ARE JUSTIFIED
  For our sake he made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him
  we might become the righteousness of God. – 2 Corinthians 5:21
  
• YOU ARE ADOPTED
  But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave
  the right to become children of God – John 1:12
  
• YOU ARE A NEW CREATION
  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has
  passed away; behold, the new has come. – 2 Corinthians 5:17
