Sermon Notes

The difference between a converted person and an unconverted person is not that one sins and the other does not, but that the one takes part in his cherished sins against a dreaded God, and the other takes part with a reconciled God against his hated sins.
– William Arnot

Repentance is appealing to the Love and Mercy of God.
Psalm 51:1

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ – by grace you have been saved.
– Ephesians 2:4-5

Men are greatly terrified at the multitude of their sins, but here is comfort – our God has a multitude of mercies. If our sins be in number as the hairs on our head, God’s mercies are as the stars of heaven.
– Charles Spurgeon

Repentance is brutal honesty and Confession of sin.
Psalm 51:3-6
Godly grief (sorrow) produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret.
