Pastor Matt Surber
Lead Pastor

Pastor Matt accepted the position of Lead Pastor at Mission City Church in 2014 and has led the church into a season of significant growth and effectiveness in seeing transformed lives. Pastor Matt serves the church in the role of Lead Pastor – providing vision and direction for the entire church as we pursue everything we are called to do.

Don Long
Executive Pastor

Don has been serving as the Executive Pastor at Mission City Church since 2015. As Executive Pastor, Don’s role is to help Campus Leadership and Church Staff accomplish the mission and vision of the church. He likes to say Pastor Matt’s job is to set the finish line and his job is to make sure we get there.

Kelsey Hiett
Director of Worship and Church Experience

Kelsey joined the Mission City team in 2017. As Director of Worship and Church Experience, Kelsey oversees all things creative such as Worship, Production, and Communications. From the weekend Worship Service to the website, her role is to make sure Mission City does everything with excellence as people engage with Mission City Church.

Teaching Team

  • With multiple locations, we rotate a teaching team every week as part of our weekend services. This allows us to have live teaching each week and experience a variety of teaching styles. Under the leadership of Pastor Matt, the teaching team delivers the same message at each campus and, no matter which location you attend, it will always be focused on the Bible.

what we believe

  • We believe the Bible is God’s Word and is without error. The Bible was written by God through men and is God’s instruction manual to us.

  • We believe God’s plan for accomplishing His purpose on the earth is the Church. The Church is made up of imperfect people coming together to worship a perfect God, and is an example to the world of Christ’s love and grace to us.

  • We believe baptism is an outward symbol of an inward change. Baptism is our declaration to others that we have placed our faith in Jesus and are committed to follow Him. We believe the Bible teaches that baptism is an act of obedience that happens after salvation.

Know Jesus

In the beginning, God made man in His image. His original design for us was perfect and without sin. When Adam and Eve chose to disobey God in the garden, sin entered the world and separated us from God because He is holy and without sin. Romans 3:23 tells us that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”. There is nothing that we can do to save ourselves or earn salvation. God knew that the payment for sin is death.

This is where Jesus comes in.

To redeem us, God sent His only Son to earth to dwell among us. Jesus lived the perfect life, without sin, and laid down His life on a cross to pay the penalty for our sins. He took the punishment and bridged the separation between man and God. But that’s not where the story ends!

Three days later after Jesus died on the cross, He rose from the dead defeating sin and death once and for all. Because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, we have the hope of eternal life with God.

This eternal relationship with God is available to anyone who repents of their sins and trusts in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. The moment of salvation, our lives are changed forever! Our sins are forgiven, and we become a child of God.
